Lucy bits
-my sister bought Lucy this neat play mirror, and Lucy LOVES it. Yesterday she was sitting with Eric spinning the ball, crunching the crinkly dragonfly, staring at herself intently. Suddenly, she bolted forward and started making out with her reflection. She bopped back and forth, kissing the mirror and grasping the sides. My Lucy, the diva drama queen.
-apparently my white slippers with embroidered cherries were captivating to Lucy’s developing brain this morning. She was playing in her exercauser and could not take her eyes off them
-I used to have this great schedule with Lucy. She’d wake up at 7, eat, then go back to bed until 9:30 or 10, giving me mucho time to write and shower and drink pots of tea. The past few weeks she started waking earlier and earlier, and last Wednesday to Friday said, "Screw you, parental units, I am AWAKE." Thus launched Morning Nap Power Struggle ‘06. We tried for three days to get her to sleep at various times in the a.m., but only earth-shattering cries ensued. And no morning sleep = one cranky ass baby. The past two days, however, have been kinda successful, so maybe the big kids will emerge victorious…
-I’m thinking of taking Lucy to this event. It’ll be fun to see the other babies and take part in the giant boob-feed-around-the-globe challenge. There are so many potential cow jokes here it’s a little overwhelming
