All day long I walk around composing blog posts in my head, and the scraps of information end up in a notebook, sticky pad or text document in the office. Right now the list sits at more three dozen topics (future employers, if you’re out there, I’m a raging idea person), so it’s not like I have a lack of things to write about.

But some days, like today, I just don’t feel like it. And that’s the joy of working and not getting paid — if you don’t do it, it’s not like you’ll miss a pay cheque or something. But I like visiting my favourite sites and seeing new posts, and am sure you do, too, so hi.

The POINT of this nonsense rambling is that I’m wondering if you’d like to do this non-paying job for me (good sell, Carly, good sell).

One of the things I love most about blogging is connecting with people and hearing their opinions about things — like here and here and yes, even here — so I want to open up the site to others. Kinda like a community forum/chat room, but with a larger venue to share your thoughts.

I’ve already asked a few of you whose email addresses I have and who I knew would easily bow to pressure and guilt. But there is such a neat range of women who come here: all ages (hi Victoria! hi Erin!), grandmoms (hi Audrey!), those with older kids (hi Lisa! hi Christy!), newborns (hi Colleen! hi Angie!), and those with no kids at all (hi Anne!) — even a few dads (hi David!) that I know of.

I would love to hear what every reader has to say about parenting, even if you don’t have children (hi Michele!). We’ve all been impacted by our parents or siblings or babies or an article we read or issue we’ve gone through. Got something to say about sacrifice, pickles, deciding not to have kids, having one unexpectedly, your husband’s farts in bed (hi honey!), your four-legged babies (hi Spencer!), adoption (hi Lesley! hi Amy!), clothes that don’t fit anymore, world peace, the asshole that didn’t hold the door open for you today (f#@* you, Dollarama dude) or the time the baby spit-up in your EYE (thank you, Lucy!)?
