Curled
Such a classic newborn pose: The frog legs tucked up, the hand beside the face, the pouty bottom lip.
Her ample hair twists into the tinest curl right at the top of her forehead.
It’s too bad we don’t remember these early newborn weeks of bliss: Sleep, eat, poop. Innocent and completely carefree, without a single worry in the world.
She smells as good as you think she does.

I have posts and posts and posts and half-started pages, but my eyes literally cross and blur if I stare at the computer too long. A side-effect of sleep deprivation, I’m sure. But I hunger for all your words and emails — you prevent that feeling of isolation and lonliness that so permeates new motherhood.

Alice the Pumpkin is grunting, which means she is covering her adorable tushie with yet another yellow, seedy poop (every. single. diaper. change.), which means she will howl to be fed a few moments after. What comes out must be replaced, right?
Time to go. Please say hi. What are your plans for the weekend? Or, what did you have for lunch today?

Hi!
I love baby frog legs. Avery still has them when I try to change her diaper. That’s when she isn’t kicking me full force in the stomach. Apparently, that’s very funny.
Weekend was going to be Santa Claus parade, but that’s changed due to the weather predictions.
Lunch was pancakes.
Oh, what an adorable picture. For the briefest moment I found myself aching for a newborn (but then I gave myself a good slap and said, “snap out of it!” so I’m fine now).
I remember I enjoyed Jamie’s early days way more than Hana’s. With Hana I was constantly looking forward to what would come next. With Jamie, I knew just how fast the time goes and how fast things change…I knew to appreciate those quiet days at the beginning when it was all just sleep, eat, poop, while they lasted.
All the best…
Weekend: tile shopping for our backsplash and a little night out with some friends.
Lunch: roasted veggie wrap (mmmmm…)
Alice is adorable. I can’t wait to meet her!!
Hi Carly! Congrats again, she is just beautiful and perfect
My ‘little’ guy is already 4 months old
It goes by way faster the second time!
Santa Claus Parade in Bowmanville, if the weather works out. It will be the kids first daytime Santa Claus parade so it should be fun.
Lunch was a egg sandwich.
I miss those days…Mary at 11 months is not intrested in cuddling anymore. She needs to see and be into everything. Diaper changes - if your not quick she rolls and is gone. The almost 3 year old, whom is at daycare today - peace and quiet-, never wants to snuggle like a newborn. The time will go very fast. I can’t believe that Mary will be a year in 5 weeks.. Where the heck die the last year go?? Enjoy while you can.
Weekend plans - coming to see both my girls. Uncle Mark and I cannot wait.
Going to my son’s 50th birthday party tomorrow…he was my second born and it sure doesnt seem that long ago that I was in your shoes…..time sure flies…….Im now expecting my 4th greatgrandbaby in January….It’s a brother for sister Emma who is Lucy’s age….oh yeah….I had a toasted cheese lettuce and tomato sandwich for lunch……….
Went shopping for some baby presents at lunch
they are so adorable that my body is actually aching for another one - grabbed some spring rolls for the drive back to the office where insanity ran amok. Getting ready for the conference this weekend - that’s my exciting plans, spending a Sunday with Nuclear Engineers .. can anyone say fun?? Just doesn’t get better than that … lol
Sounds like you need a Durham Mom’s night out …
oh and I want to eat Alice’s toes, feet, fingers …
Adorable picture - so peaceful. I miss those days. Maddie is 13 months and a walking/screeching/getting into everything machine. What I wouldn’t give for a baby cuddle…
Plans for the weekend - Santa Claus Parade perhaps, rented dvd’s, probably some baking and grocery shopping (ooooh the excitement).
Lunch = stew. I’m still full…
Aaww Alice is amazing
Lunch : Chocolate Sundae and a RootBeer .. aahh the epitomy of health
Weekend: Santa Claus Parade..unless its pouring..which I think is pretty much what everyone is saying ..
That and maybe I will be able to convince my dearest to put up the Cmas lites ! yay !
That is such a cute picture!!
Tomorrow I’m taking my hubby out for his birthday. The whole day is a surprise for him. First we’re going for an early dinner with our best friends. Then we’re heading downtown on the subway to check into a hotel. And then we’re walking to the symphony! There’s a party after that we’ll likely stay for…….. or not.
It’s our first night away from Liam (he’ll be one Dec. 1st!). Of course we’ve been away from Kylah quite a bit.
I’m so looking forward to it!!
Lunch… good old Kraft Dinner.
That is such a great pose!
Jordan is 5 1/2 months already and I can’t believe we’ll be serving him rice cereal shortly(purchased some this morning)!!! The time has gone by so fast…please, please, pleeeeeeeease take advantage of the sleepy times now, and try to get your rest now b/c when you’re stretched between two kids, constantly, it’s even more exhausting than feedings in the middle of the night. Remember how small she is b/c before you know it, she’ll be running around after Lucy!
Lunch: Kathryne helped me make some cream cheese, feta cheese and raisin wrapped in spinach tortillas. She insisted on sprinkling the raisins as she does sprinkles on cookies, when we made the wraps. Oh, and blueberries…she wanted her blueberries inside her wrap, so in they went.
Her wrap was a little different. It contained two cheese slices, some butter, blueberries and raisins on a spinach tortilla. I have to say…she ate it all!
Keep up the posts…I look forward to seeing what else is happening in this world we live in!
Hi!
Looks like you and the family are doing well. So happy for you all. I love Alice’s little curl. How adorable!
Let’s see…today we ran errands from 9 a.m. until 3. We had breakfast out and then dinner out. Double bonus!! In between errands and dinner we hung the curtains in the bedroom that we painted last weekend. The room is coming together! Crib goes up tomorrow and that’s it.
Speaking of tomorrow~church in the a.m., laundry the rest of the day while the hubby puts up the crib. That’s all we have on tap.
Hope the 4 of you have a fab weekend!
oh yeah, duh forgot I was going to see Sound of Music. Recommended! We saw the alternate, Janna and she was phenominal, bought an animatronic goat too! let the good times roll!
