Product review & giveaway: NooNoo blanket from Raising Rascals

Raising Rascals_1.gif

Do any of your kids have a lovey? A soft something-or-other they cherish and take everywhere?

Lucy has a crocheted blankie from a family friend. Alice is still developing hers, but one of her favourites is the NooNoo bug-gy blanket which we received from our friend Coreen at Raising Rascals.

Here’s why we love it:

  • it’s oh-so-soft
  • small and portable, with a loop for linking on a stroller, car seat, crib or high chairnoonoo.jpg
  • loops for gnawing on
  • fun textures: the fabric is a soft felted wool, with circles embroidered on for pulling and counting, while the edges are lil’ rounded lumps
  • a whimsical and cute sheep smiles out at you from the centre (the company says this is an example of “child art imagery)
  • colourful polka dots on the back make both of us smile

The only thing I don’t really like is that it’s white. And white shows EVERY bit of dirt and food and whatever. Which might be a good thing, really — it certainly gets washed a lot!

These would make a lovely shower or welcome baby gift, and are sure to become a favourite as the child grows.

I have a NooNoo for a lucky reader to win! Here’s how: Poke around the Raising Rascals website, and leave a comment with what would be on the top of your child’s wish list.

We’ll announce the winner Thursday. Have fun!

Wow, blankies have evolved! My blankie as a child was created from a flannel sheet set that my mom “salvaged”…

After reviewing the products available on the website, I think that the Hatley Dinosaurs Kids Back Pack, or perhaps the lil buddies bank: turtle would be at the top of Aiden’s wish list.

It was hard to decide what I liked the best. I loved the crib sheet sets. But I think my favourite item would be the Klean Kanteen 12oz Sippy in the Pink Renewal colour.

Under the Nile organic monkey. Cameron has a thing for stuffies as we call them, not just one to sleep with, but about a dozen! Each day he had a particular favourite. He used to be glued to frogs (we have about 7 various ribeters), but now he is switching to monkeys, starting with his hallowe’en costume we just got this weekend :o )

We LOVE tyhe Klean Kanteen with the sippy lids – as they work with avent nipples too! We bought one in the summertime for our new babe (born just 3 weeks ago) and he tried it for the first time 2 days ago. This is on the top of our wish list, as we are looking to buy some soon!

How do you choose just one! I loved so many, many things.
The Elegant Baby blanket with blue and chocolate stripes, the “drunk on boobjuice” onesie, under the nile organic monkey – what kid or parent would not love that one!, the Elegant baby – baby bowl and spoon sets, the dish set with the bear saying “Hungrrry”, the Animals growth charts and the adorable drawer pulls. So many wonderful items that neither I nor my toddler can choose just one!

There are so many cute things on this website. I LOVE the formal dresses for little girls!! My little girl (just turned 2) would love the Little Soles – Squeaky Shoes in Black (she loves shoes) and The Safe Sippy in Pink. And also the Hatley Apples Kids Back Pack. Then she’d be set to go. My 2 month old boy would love the Knotty Octopus. I’m going to keep this website in mind for Christmas shopping!! Thanks!!

Eirinn would love the princess name hanging because a) she loves all things princess and b) her parents were cruel enough to give her an unusually spelled name. Anything personalized will always have to be custom ordered for her! Sorry, Eirinn!

Lena loves when she hears her name and loves to shake-a shake-a to her music. So she would for sure love the personalized CD, incorporating 2 of her favourite things. I will have to order one for Christmas!!! What a great website!

What great products, it’s so tough to pick just one. As a 28 year old who still sleeps with a blankey I can certainly understand the importance of a good one! I love all of the baby blankets (they would make fantastic gifts as well!) but I also like the stroller blanket (brown and beige) and the elegant baby bowl (with suction!!) and spoon.
