Thursday

swing.jpgToday is my day with the girls.

Monday-Wednesday they are in their respective daycares. Friday my Mom has either one or occasionally both of them.

So, Thursday is Our Day. Lucy nicknamed us The Three Toots this summer when we were together all the time, so Thursday is now Three Toots Together Day (with Spencer. Who is sometimes a toot).

I trymy hardest not to work (too much). We dance a lot. We rarely get dressed, unless we have to go somewhere. Lucy and I have tea when Alice naps, and spend the time in the basement doing crafts or playing.

It’s my favourite day of the week. Followed closely by Friday nights, when Eric and I totally unwind with junk food and TV. We rock out in the Boonies, you know.

But it’s sometimes hair-pulling frustrating, especially if the girls aren’t getting along. No matter what, by 5 p.m. I’m clock-watching and waiting for Eric to cross the threshold.

Do you have favourite or not-so-favourite day of the week with your kids?

Friday night. Our work week is done, knowing we can sleep in the next morning we usually let Jaxson stay up a little later, which means he can watch his favourite show, the Backyardigans and get some extra stories before bed. We usually open a bottle of wine and order some pizza or something once Jaxs is in bed. Then on Sat & Sun morning Jaxson always crawls in bed with us for cuddles while we catch some extra shut eye…which I look forward to all week!!

Mondays and Fridays I have my two girls all day, and we usually hang out at home in our jammies, Gemma named our days “Princess Power” :)

I am a very lucky mom who gets to work full time but be home by 2:30pm everyday to spend the rest of the day with Cameron until he goes to bed at 9:00pm. I really have the best of both worlds, so I would say everyday is my favourite day. We tend to be out A LOT – with 11 living grandparents to keep us busy visiting as they are all local – so just being able to have time everyday with him makes being his mom extra special. I actually can’t wait to go home to him everyday – its the best part of my day!

If you had asked me this a month ago, I would have been hard pressed to find my favourite day – everyday was great – I was a stay-at-home mom who loved every single minute with my kids.
I have recemtly returned to work part-time(after 4 years away) and now my favourite days are obviously the ones that I get to spend the whole day with Carson and Hannah.

Friday nights are definitely the best. All the stress of the week is behind and we can enjoy spending time together. Movie nights are very popular in our house!
